About
Handcrafted Guitar Pedals That Help Rescue Dogs
NOKILL Pedal Co is a one-person boutique guitar pedal company based in Portland, Oregon. Founded and run by Alex Brown, every NOKILL pedal is hand-soldered, hand-wired, individually tested, and finished with original dog-inspired artwork before it ships. Nothing is mass-produced.
Every pedal features artwork inspired by rescue dogs, and a portion of every sale is donated to animal rescue organizations. We believe great tone and doing good should go hand in hand.
Our Mission
NOKILL started with a simple idea: make great-sounding pedals, name them after dogs, and use the proceeds to help animals in need. Every pedal in our lineup is hand-built in Portland and designed to deliver tones that punch well above their price point.
We partner with rescue organizations including One Tail At A Time WTX (OTAT WTX), a no-kill rescue based in West Texas. OTAT WTX funds emergency veterinary care, fostering, and rehoming for dogs that need a second chance. Several of our pedals — like Trinity's Triangle, which donates 100% of profits to OTAT WTX — are named after specific rescue dogs whose stories inspired their creation.
What We Build
Our lineup spans fuzz, glitch, distortion, delay, and synth effects. Highlights include:
- Trinity's Triangle — classic Big Muff Triangle fuzz, all profits to dog rescue
- Entirely Too Large Dachshund — heavy-handed wall-of-sound fuzz
- Big Mutt 2×2 — dual Big Muff circuits in a compact 125B enclosure
- Error State — chaotic glitch fuzz inspired by the ZVex Fuzz Factory
- Chopper — massive-range distortion inspired by the ZVex Mastotron
- Borzoi Glitch Fuzz — octave fuzz meets bitcrushed chaos
- Basset Hound Tape Delay — PT2399 delay with vintage tape wobble
- Evil Caninevil — reverse-beta silicon fuzz with octave-up
We also build powder-coated 125B enclosures for DIY builders, and offer custom one-off pedals featuring artwork of your own dog.
Build Process
Every NOKILL pedal is built one at a time in Portland. Circuits are hand-soldered to point-to-point boards, wired up, tested through a real amp, then finished with original artwork before being packaged and shipped. Current lead time is approximately 2 weeks. All pedals are true bypass and run on standard 9V DC center-negative power.
DOGS > HUMANS
That's the NOKILL motto. We're not saying humans are bad. We're saying dogs are just better. And we think you'll agree once you plug in one of our pedals and hear what all the bark is about.
